Bonjour,

Projet annulé…

"Calling all Crew!

This is the update you did not want to hear and the update we did not want to write. In a few moments we will cancel the project so we can regroup. We have been playing this fun little game for four years now and we really want to bring our full vision of the game to your table. Although we have met and exceeded our minimum funding goal, we believe we will not raise enough to complete all our objectives.

What makes this doubly hard is that we know we are going to disappoint some backers. Thank you all for your support and for the interest and enthusiasm you showed in the comments thread.

Through the Stretch Goals that are already unlocked, you have seen new Crew and Aliens. We’ve turned tokens into minis. The game components have been upgraded. If you look back at our other campaigns you can see we had many, many stretch goals. Neo-Morphosis is no different. What you have seen was just the tip of the iceberg.

We had so much more planned. You can guess some SGs; Crew to fill out the roster, Aliens for them to battle and sculpted bases to make them look at home. We have more token to mini conversions, like crates, terminals, and the halon tank to bring the game board to life and sculpted markers for the SIP. Plus extra drones, cute wheeled robots and creepy androids! But it was not all about the plastic. We had game card Stretch Goals that would bring new and exciting game play to the core box, extending the lifetime of the game on your table. That is the game Neo-Morphosis deserves to be and the game that you deserve to play.

So don’t think of this as the end, think of this as a new beginning. We need to look at what we can do better, with changes in the game and the way we present it on Kickstarter. We’ll scour the comments here and on our reviewer and news article sites to see how we can improve the game. Please tell us what caught your eye and made you support us. We don’t have a time line, but don’t worry we’ll be back! And you’ll get a better game for it! In the meantime…

Squish those bugs!"

3 « J'aime »

Surtout que pour l’instant,il a quand même permis (en dépit des mascarades) de financer des milliers de projets. Vouloir tout mettre sur la table (notamment les coulisses, ça me rappelle qq échecs récents). Du coup, pas sûr qu’on aille dans ce sens;

Question con mais question quand même:

Mais moi ça me va

Here is a sneak peek about the first game mechanics that we included in the updated rulebook of Neo-Morphosis: crafting items.

EDIT: Encore une mécanique de jeu révélée

Today we all attend a class in Xenobiology!

Your crew is facing a threat completely unknown to Mankind. That’s scary! Luckily, as a group of top-class experts, each of you has a unique insight into their possible weaknesses.

Each crew member starts the game with a diagram that represents his/her intuition about the possible weaknesses of each alien class.

Once per round, you will be able to recombine your knowledge of the aliens’ biology to gain an edge and obtain attack or defense bonuses.

How does it work?

Each round you need to connect the diagrams, matching the alien class symbols across all diagrams.

Once all diagrams are connected, you calculate your bonuses for that round. Each bonus applies to any dice roll against the specific alien class indicated by the connected symbols.

However, you have to choose your bonuses carefully! Aliens keep evolving and you need to take that into account to maximize your chance of survival.

NEW GAME MECHANICS: CRAFTING

It is time to look into another new rule that was added to Neo-Morphosis: Infestation.

World Exit Research Station is a purely scientific endeavor located in a secluded location in the middle of an icy wasteland. Obviously, none of you is properly equipped, much less trained, to face a swarm of aliens. If it is true that under the right conditions people are pushed to be at their best, when those conditions are monstrous aliens trying to destroy the base that’s keeping you alive, you will certainly exceed all expectations!

Fortunately, your scientific and technical skills come in handy when it comes to finding creative solutions to unforeseen problems. In Neo-Morphosis, you can assemble scrap materials and tools into useful items or improvised weapons.

How does it work?

The Crew can create new items/weapons from parts, equipment and tools that are found in the facility. These elements are represented by the Crafting cards that are placed face down during Setup.

If a Crew Member is in an area that contains an Assembly Point (marked with a Tech or Science token), they can craft one or more cards. Assembly Points marked with Tech tokens can craft Tech cards only. Assembly points marked with Science tokens can craft Science cards only.

Fig.1 Assembly Point

A Hero must spend one action and roll a Tech or Science test (as marked on the front of the card showing the unassembled item).

If the Crew Member fails the Test, the parts are not damaged. However, the Action was still taken. There is no restriction on who makes another attempt to assemble the Weapon, or when it is made – the same Crew Member can even immediately try again, if they have Actions Available.

If the test is successful, he can flip the card showing the assembled item on the other side, and equip the item.

To equip the item, place it adjacent to the right side of the Character card, matching the connection icon (triangle or rectangle) on the item card with the one on the Character card.

It can now be used in Combat, and Dropped, Picked Up or Traded like any other Item.

Tech cards are marked with a yellow RECTANGLE. Science cards are marked with a yellow TRIANGLE. Each card type must be connected next to a matching icon. You cannot connect different card types.

In this example, the Hero needs to roll more than 7 to pass the Tech Test and craft the Nail Blaster. If he succeeds, he can equip the crafted item next to the Character card.

More items can be equipped next to each other if the right edge of the card shows the matching triangle or rectangle connection icon.

If the right edge of the card doesn’t show a connection icon, no more cards can be equipped.

You can discard one equipped card and replace it with a new one at any moment.

After using a card with the discard symbol (X), you must remove it from the stack and put it back in the box. It cannot be used anymore during the current mission.

Squish those bugs!
