Résumé : En 1954, le gouvernement suédois mit en chantier la construction du plus grand accélérateur de particules au monde dans les profondeurs du lac Mälar près de Stockholm. Les travaux s’achevèrent en 1969, et rapidement une communauté de scientifiques et de chercheurs se regroupa en créant un centre de recherche avancé au milieu du décor pastoral de l’île de Munsö. Les habitants de l’île appellent ce centre: le Loop.
Dans Tales from the Loop, vous incarnez des enfants dans cette période étrange des années 80. Votre vie est monotone et sans grandes nouveautés, entre les devoirs qui n’en finissent pas, vos frères et sœurs avec lesquels vous vous chamaillez sans cesse, vos parents qui sont sur votre dos pour un rien, et cette bande qui vous harcèle dès qu’elle en a l’occasion. Mais cette vie peut basculer rapidement, car depuis la construction du complexe scientifique, d’étranges événements surviennent dans votre ville.

On peut noter qu’à la Gencon, le jeu a gagné des ENnies (Best Game, Best Setting, Best Writing, Product of the year) + un Judge Spotlight et qu’il fait suite à un kickstarter plutôt réussi.
Il me tente assez, car ayant été récemment joueur sur Little Fears lequel me semble avoir une ascendance ( PJ enfants, point de capa en fonction d’un ecart par rapport à un âge). Le setting avait d’ailleurs placé dans les années 90s mais je ne sais pas si c’était le souhait du MJ ou du livre, ni s’il y a d’autres points communs entre les deux n’ayant lu ni Tales from the loop(vo) ni Little fears.

The Tales From the Loop roleplaying game, based on the wondrous worlds of author and visual artist Simon Stålenhag, was released in 2017 and was a big hit, winning no less than five Gold ENnies, including Best Game and Product of the Year. The game is our best-selling title to date.
On April 3, the tv series based on Stålenhag’s work will be launched on Amazon Prime Video, starring Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona), Paul Schneider (Parks and Recreation), and Jonathan Pryce (Game of Thrones).

Fria Ligan vient de lancer un autre KS par l’auteur de Tales From The Loop. C’est déjà largement financé pour cet artbook narratif franchement superbe. Je sens qu’on va avoir droit à un autre RPG made in Sweden d’ici peu ^^
