Vampire: The Masquerade – Milan Uprising - par Xplored - livraison sept. 2024

Vampire the Masquerade: Milan Uprising

As you may have noticed in the above pictures, we began teasing our next game at our booth, Vampire the Masquerade: Milan Uprising! This drew the attention of not only our backers and fans of the World of Darkness, but we noticed some media interest as well! We’ll be sharing more information about the game and crowdfunding campaign in the coming months, but for now, here is a closer look at the booth artwork:

donc oui, ca me fait chier car la licence me plait bcp

While no specifics can be shared yet for the launch of the campaign for Vampire: The Masquerade - Milan Uprising, backers of The Bad Karmas and The Curse of The Zodiac should be reassured that it will not be before production of their project has been running and their pledge is on the way to them.

The gameboard represents the city of Milan as the vampires know it, and is the arena in which their desperate struggle plays out when the sun sets.

Uncover the secrets of a domain held by the Camarilla by moving your miniatures between the physical board’s regions. Teburu follows the action, enhancing the play session with deep storytelling on your mobile device.

Update #1 - Celebrating 4,000 Followers!

Welcome all Vampires!

The Teburu team here at Xplored is beyond excited to share that, just this past week, Vampire: The Masquerade - Milan Uprising passed 4000 followers on gamefound! To celebrate, we are happy to share two major announcements!

The Prince of Milan

Although the City of Milan was once a seat of power for the Sabbat, it is now under the influence of the Camarilla and Prospero, its Prince from the Lasombra Clan.

To give back to all of our wonderful followers, we are happy to announce that we will be giving the Prospero, Prince of Milan miniature for free to all backers who follow the campaign before its launch! Enhance the atmosphere of your gameplay experience with this 90mm tall miniature (60mm base) as the Prince of Milan watches over his domain from a hidden lair.

As long as you follow the campaign before its launch, this add-on will be automatically added to your cart for free upon checkout. This item will also be available as an optional paid add-on during the campaign and is not required for gameplay purposes.

Revealing the Lead Writer for Milan Uprising

As a story-based game, we naturally would want to develop an intriguing narrative fit for The World of Darkness. We are therefore excited to reveal Mike Nudd as the lead writer for Vampire: The Masquerade - Milan Uprising! Mike will be joining our team of designers and narrative collaborators living in Milan, who have a special insight into the secrets of the city.

Mike Nudd is an independent freelance games writer, designer and developer based in the UK perhaps best known for co-designing the popular Dice Hospital board game published by Alley Cat Games.

Mike has been a Storyteller of World of Darkness tabletop and live-action role-playing games since the release of the first Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop RPG in 1991. Mike’s first publication was the Vampire: Prince of the City board game for White Wolf’s Vampire: The Requiem, but he has more recently contributed material to the Storyteller’s Toolkit and the Fall of London supplement for the Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition tabletop role-playing game.

Mike has also provided story content for the soon to be released Vampire: The Masquerade - Chapters board game by Flyos Games. In addition, Mike is part of the design team that produces new cards for the Vampire: The Eternal Struggle (VTES) constructible card game now published by Black Chantry Productions, and he regularly attends national and international card tournaments organized by the player community.

Campaign Timeline

For now, we can only share that we plan to launch the campaign in the first half of 2023, but we look forward to sharing the official date as soon as we can!

That is all we have for now but look out for future updates as we begin to release more information about the game and campaign!

Oue bah qu’ils livrent tbk déjà …

Update #3 - The City of Milan

Update 3 image|100%xauto

A Milan Uprising pre-campaign update on the city setting and campaign timeline.

Welcome fellow Anarchs!

We are happy to see so many joining our campaign as we now approach 9000 followers! In this month’s pre-campaign update, we are happy to share more information on the game and one of its central characters… the City of Milan.

The Milan Uprising chronicle focuses on the city and its districts: who dominates them, how to take control of the ones you need, and how to defend your territory while simultaneously expanding your presence throughout the entire city. This can be accomplished many ways, such as performing investigations, talking to NPCs, battling other Factions, and through interactive storytelling sequences in which every choice has a consequence. So let’s get to know the city a little better!

The City of Milan

Milan has a thousands-year old history, but it’s also the leading city in the fields of fashion, design, and arts. Extreme luxury and poverty coexist under the Milan Cathedral, making this city a perfect setting for a Vampire Chronicle.

Milan has always been a city important to Vampire history, between the signing of the eponymous Code of Milan, centuries Sabbat rule, and its tumultuous fall into the hands of the Camarilla in more recent history. We are excited to narrate the story of Milan in the Modern Nights through the eyes of our design team, which lives in Milan and knows best how to capture the city’s atmosphere, distinctive attitude, and secret locations.

We plan to treat the city as a Character itself, with its own stories, statuses, and even its own reactions to the presence and actions of the players and factions as they spread across Milan. One of the main ways to explore and interact with the city is through its various districts.

City Districts

The city is comprised of 30 districts, each with a specific location type and associated attribute. Suburbs are poorer districts on the outside edges of the city, while Uptown locations are more centrally located with upper-class venues and expensive flats. Although they are quite the opposite in terms of characteristics, both locations are associated with Physical attributes, so strength and dexterity will be useful for getting out of trouble… or instigating it yourselves.

Barona is a Suburban district commonly associated with organized crime, one can expect to run into trouble.

Sempione is an Uptown destination for major events and concerts, inevitably attracting petty crime and drug dealing.

Commercial districts naturally consist of commercial activities and shopping, while the downtown Business districts consist of banking and office buildings. Both districts are associated with Mental attributes, so making deals in these areas will require more intelligence and perceptiveness.

Three Towers, or Citylife, is one of the newer Commercial districts consisting of luxury shops and residences.

Cinque Vie is one of the oldest districts of the city, but the occult has a strong presence in this otherwise Business focused district.

Nightlife districts attract many visitors at night with their bars, pubs, and clubs, whereas the Instituitional districts are home to city administration, public offices, and museums by day. These Social districts may require more charisma and insight to successfully navigate.

Navigli is one of the best-known Nightlife destinations in the city, with ample bars and restaurants lining the district’s artificial canals.

The Design District is home to various artists and cafes and also serves as an Institution on the world stage of design and innovation.

Lastly, there are several districts that are not limited to a single attribute but offer a variety of actions, and even special events and interactions that utilize a mix of different skills.

The Duomo is an iconic symbol of power for the City of Milan, but it also serves as the nerve center from which Prospero exercises his praxis.

Upon entering a district, players will be given several options on how they would like to interact with the location, which can involve spending resources, making decisions, resolving skill checks based on the associated attribute, or investigating various city and player storylines. Players will progress through the game by taking control of the city districts one by one, gaining their influence subtly or by fighting the leading faction, as they attempt to reach the Prince and depose him of his rule.

Ultimately, the path you choose is your own, however, your choices and actions along the way can have a profound and lasting effect on the state of the city. Will you establish a network of allies to aid you in your fight, or will you only surround yourself with more enemies? Can you work together to accomplish the coterie’s agenda, or will you find yourself distracted by personal goals? Will you have the strength and guile to defeat the Camarilla, or will you ultimately meet your end at the hands of the Prince himself…

Campaign Timeline

When we initially announced VTM: Milan Uprising, the goal was to launch the campaign in the first half of 2023, however, our previous kickstarter campaign of the Teburu system and its first game “The Bad Karmas” has experienced a delay in production. Out of respect to our backers we have been pushing back our launch date for Milan Uprising to ensure that we have fulfillment underway before launching our next game.

Now that production has resumed and we have an updated fulfillment estimate, we have decided to delay the Milan Uprising campaign to the second half of 2023. It is very important to us to show our commitment to our backers and prove ourselves to be reliable and transparent when it comes to the design and production process, especially with such an ambitious project as the Teburu. We also want to provide a guarantee to our current and future backers that all money raised on a campaign is used explicitly for the project it was raised for and is in no way used to fund previous projects. We are very eager to launch Milan Uprising, and even though the campaign may be delayed, our work will continue. In fact, we are happy to share a sneak peek at our latest prototype testing session! Maybe you’ll have an opportunity to try it yourself at a convention or two this year!

The Anarchs are ready to explore Milan.

The Anarchs attempt to expand their domain.

That is all for this update, we will see you again soon!
