Creative Games Studio (Chronicles of Drunagor et Dante: Inferno) vient dévoiler la page GF de son prochain jeu. Il s’agit de BattleForge : Berserker - un combat de boss coopératif où les joueurs affrontent des versions corrompues des dieux nordiques !

En tout cas la DA (à première vue) est plutôt sympa , à voir le reste (prix, place, gameplay …)

Ce qui semble être des plateaux joueurs en forme d’hexagone découpé où se place des cubes me semble plutôt original.

Pour le reste, en revanche, plutôt classique je dirais, pour le peu que l’on en vois.

J’ai regardé une partie de la vidéo, et voilà ce que j’en ai compris (avec traduction auto).
Donc, excusez-moi s’il y a quelques erreurs ou imprécisions :sweat_smile:

INFOS GÉNÉRALES

  • Lancement de la campagne prévu pour Septembre
  • Coop : 1-4 joueurs
  • 8 scénarios jouables mixables avec 4 Boss
  • Plateau central : plusieurs livres à spiral
  • Histoire à travers des bandes dessinées
  • Univers de Dieux nordiques corrompus par de la technologie (steampunk)

PHASES DE JEU

  • Joueurs s’activent chacun leur tour (3 activations possibles)
  • Evénement (carte)
  • Boss (et minions)

MÉCANIQUES

  • Activation avec un système de rondel (Mancala)
  • On prend tous les cubes d’un emplacement et on les distribue dans le sens horaire (Petit Poucet Style)
  • On n’active pas la zone d’arrivée, mais la zone de départ
    • En prenant un cube dans le cadran le plus au Sud (voir plus bas), on aura 2 points d’Attaque
    • Un des cubes sera placé dans le cadran Sud-Ouest, le second dans le cadrant Nord-Ouest (le joueur n’aura donc plus d’action d’Attaque possible)

Activations possibles

  • Attaque : lance autant de dés que de cubes pris - certaines faces ont une réaction ennemie
  • Soin ou Interaction avec la map (et donc le scénario)
  • Protection ou Relance de dés (action de réaction)
  • A la place de l’activation du cadran sélectionné, on peut Se Déplacer d’autant que de cubes pris dans le cadran (+1 Mouvement pour quitter une zone contenant déjà des ennemis)

A noter que les différentes zones d’activations sont upgradables (avec des tokens) en cours de partie.

PARTICULARITÉS

  • On joue un Personnage ET un Esprit ancestral, avec chacun une capacité propre
  • Il y aura une logique de « Double miniature qui se clipsent »
  • Contrairement au screenshot, la miniature de l’Esprit - à gauche - sera transparente dans sa version finale
  • Les ennemis pourront rajouter temporairement des cubes sur le plateau joueur (d’une autre couleur)
  • Ces cubes auront des effets (ex : quand le joueur active la zone où se situe ce cube, il perd 2 PV, avant de défausser le cube)
  • En tuant un ennemi, le joueur pourra monter sur une piste liée à son Personnage ou Esprit (voir image plus bas)
  • Quand un cube atteint un palier aligné avec la carte, il déclenche un bonus permanent pour le reste de la partie : nouveau dé pour l’attaque, upgrade d’un cadran de son plateau, cube de plus sur son plateau…

Merci pour le résumé, j’avais vraiment beaucoup apprécié cet éditeur, et j’ai été assez déçu vis à vis de Dante pour les frais de ports astronomiques.

Donc je vais être beaucoup plus attentiste sur cette campagne.

Je me demande ce que ça vaudra comme jeu…surtout ce qu’il proposera avec ces « standees » à la Jojo qui devraient être top à peindre.

Remember, teamwork and thoughtful planning are paramount; each decision impacts not only your individual Champion’s strength but the entire group’s collective fate and ultimate victory.

The Rondel: The Heart of Battleforge Strategy

At the core of Battleforge: Berserker lies one of its most innovative and tactical features: the Rondel, a six-space Mancala-inspired action wheel that sets this game apart from traditional adventure or tactical skirmish systems.

Each Champion manages their own Rondel, guiding their actions in combat. Whether attacking, defending, healing, or performing ancient rituals, every choice revolves, quite literally, around this evolving interface.

On a Champion’s turn, their Action Cubes move clockwise around the wheel. As cubes accumulate in certain spaces, future actions become stronger, creating ever-shifting momentum. The longer you wait to strike, the harder you may hit. Delay a defense, and you may be able to turn it into a devastating counterattack.

This creates a natural rhythm to every Champion’s arc, like a beating war drum. It pushes players to think ahead, to read the battlefield, and to master the flow of combat.

To make things even more dynamic, players can receive Boons: special tokens that amplify specific actions on the Rondel. These may grant critical boosts at just the right moment, turning the tide of battle and adding another layer of tactical depth to each round.

The Rondel is more than a system. It is the pulse of your Champion’s journey, a living loop of power, patience, and precision.

The Ironborn Gods: Ultimate Adversaries

The Ironborn Gods are Battleforge: Berserker’s ultimate foes. Each is meticulously designed to offer distinct tactical challenges and forge unforgettable battles, wielding unique decks and specific actions. They unleash varied, thematic, and dangerous abilities every round, constantly shifting the threat on the battlefield.

To survive, Champions must constantly adapt. Victory demands careful timing of attacks, precise defensive maneuvers, and sharp exploitation of possible vulnerabilities to gradually weaken and ultimately defeat these colossal enemies. It’s a strategic dance of anticipation and execution.

These formidable foes must be broken apart before being destroyed; each targeted part possesses unique features as they are damaged, activating the God’s resilience skills. Every confrontation emphasizes tactical depth, teamwork, and adaptability, culminating in dramatic and profoundly fulfilling climaxes for each scenario.

Face Relentless Hordes

Beyond the colossal Gods, the Minions serve as relentless adversaries, designed to continuously challenge your strategies. These creatures activate at the command of the Ironborn Gods, following streamlined rules, yet they constantly threaten Champions or pursue critical objectives each round.

While individually manageable, their combined assaults and unique traits force a delicate balance of aggression and defense. Minions ensure the battlefield is always dynamic, exerting continuous pressure and demanding tactical decisions without cumbersome upkeep, proving they are far more than mere fodder.

Unending Trials, Shifting Fates

Venture into Battleforge: Berserker and discover a realm of limitless conflict. Each distinct Scenario unveils its own unique mechanics, victory demands, and unforgiving loss triggers, woven with thematic Event Cards that shape every encounter.

But the true mastery lies in the Ironborn Gods. Each God commands a unique deck, combining their might with the Scenario’s rules to unleash unpredictable synergies upon the battlefield. A fresh God transforms any familiar Scenario into an entirely new crucible of danger, ensuring countless hours of evolving challenge and discovery.

Community Side Quests: No Early Birds. No Follow Gifts. Just Real Rewards for Everyone.

In many campaigns, Early Bird or Follow Gifts only benefit a portion of the community, often the fastest to act or those who joined first. While we understand the intent behind those strategies, we believe there’s a better way.

For Battleforge: Berserker, we’re doing things differently.

We’re building a community-driven path to unlock more content, together; before the campaign even begins. This means every reward we unlock will be available to all Champions, no matter when you pledge.

The First Reward: A New Adventure Awaits

Our first Community Side Quest is live; and it comes with real gameplay value.

Once we reach 5,000 followers on our draft page, we’ll unlock an entirely new Adventure for Battleforge: BERSERKER.
