Update #27 - Pledge Manager & Exclusive Preorder News

Hey, hunters. We’ve got some very exciting news for you today, including updates on the Iceborne pledge manager, the exclusive Monster Hunter World: The Board Game preorder, and some community-requested items…

:snowflake: Pledge Manager Launching Soon :snowflake:

First off, an update on the question many of you have been asking:

When will the Iceborne pledge manager launch?

Right now, we’re in the process of setting up the pledge manager and expect to launch it towards the end of July.

It will stay open for at least a few months, giving you plenty of time to pick up any add-ons you might like, pay for shipping, and complete your pledge.

Within 24 hours of the pledge manager launching, you’ll get an email inviting you to complete your pledge.

Sometimes it can take a little while for the emails to send, so don’t worry if you don’t get yours right away. We’ll also share an update with more details closer to the launch.

It is extremely important that you complete the pledge manager in order to receive your pledge.

If you don’t complete the pledge manager, we won’t be able to ship your pledge to you. So, even though you have time, it’s a good idea to complete your pledge as soon as you can so you don’t forget later.

TL’DR: The pledge manager will open towards the end of July. It’s essential you complete the pledge manager to receive your pledge. Keep an eye on your inbox for the invite!

:snowflake: New Items in the Pledge Manager :snowflake:

During the Kickstarter, we had a lot of requests for new items to be added in the pledge manager.

These included some of your favourite monsters, alternative coloured sculpts for variants and subspecies, and cosmetic upgrades (like neoprene mats and acrylic tokens).

Although we couldn’t make any promises — and it wouldn’t be possible to do everything — we did promise to explore the possibilities.

Cosmetic Upgrades

We’re still looking into cosmetic upgrades right now and will share more news when we have it.

Alt. Coloured Sculpts

Because of the sheer number of subspecies and variants in Iceborne, introducing alternative coloured sculpts would have big implications for production timelines, costs, and shipping packouts.

So, they aren’t something we’re able to introduce right now.

It’s possible we’ll be able to release something at some point in the future, via the Steamforged website, but we can’t make any promises. If that happens, we’ll post an update here on Kickstarter.

New Monsters

Many of you were asking for monsters you wanted to see that weren’t in the Kickstarter, and we heard you. It was, by far, the biggest request we received.

As we said during the campaign, we already had plans in place to support Iceborne beyond the Kickstarter. We’ve already started working on a Wave 2 of future Iceborne releases, which includes many of the requested monsters.

Given the success of the campaign, and the number of requests we had (and continue to have), we’ve spent the last few weeks working on ways to bring the Wave 2 monsters forward — without jeopardising either the fulfilment of your existing rewards, or the time needed to complete development work.

We’re now extremely excited to finally tell you that we can bring the Wave 2 releases forward as an early, exclusive preorder!

Introducing the Overpowering Hunger Monster Expansion, including Brachydios, Fulgur Anjanath, Gold Rathian, and Savage Deviljho! (Plus variant cards for Raging Brachydios.)

The Ruiner Nergigante Elder Dragon Expansion!

And the Blackveil Vaal Hazak Elder Dragon Expansion!

These Wave 2 monsters will be available to preorder in the Iceborne pledge manager alongside your Iceborne pledge. Because this is an early preorder we’ve brought forward due to popular demand, it isn’t part of the Monstrous Pledge.

Because these are Steamforged exclusives that aren’t part of the Kickstarter, they will be available from the Steamforged website in the future but won’t go to general retail.

By preordering these monsters in the Iceborne pledge manager, you’ll get them earlier than everyone else, because they’ll be shipped with your Iceborne pledge. (And you can combine shipping costs, too.)

In addition, there are some countries we can’t ship to from our website, but can ship to for Kickstarters. So, if you’re based in one of those countries, there’s now a way for you to get your hands on these monsters.

Of course, this also means Jamie Perkins now has to write a bunch more journals, so we can tell you what new challenges these beasts will add to your board game!

We’ll be sharing those journals and more information in the coming weeks as we get closer to launch. So, keep an eye on the updates for the latest…well, updates.

You can also find us (and many other hunters) in the Discord and official Facebook group.

As many of you will remember, we’re launching an exclusive preorder to give backers early access to Monster Hunter World: The Board Game.

We can now confirm the preorder will launch July 19!

We’ll share more news on how you can access the preorder in the coming updates.

It’s going to be an exciting couple of months in the tabletop Monster Hunter World.

See you very soon, hunters!
