Idem un jour

Salut.

Hello Backers, this just in! Today we just received 14 PU samples from the factory. What’s that mean? All of the PU samples are now complete! A few were damaged in transit, but nothing that a little gorilla glue couldn’t fix for this update.

To see the list of all the miniatures we’ve completed both red wax and PU samples for, here’s an updated link (the ones in bright green are the ones we just got in today!)

https://www.dropbox.com/…/Fantasy-Series-2-Checklist…

Following, the spreadsheet will continue to be updated and will be a great way to visually see the progress of the upcoming T1 and T2 samples as they come in.

PU SAMPLES

If you’ve been following along, after the metal moulds are tooled, PU samples are important to test the quality of the moulds since mass production will use the same metal moulds to create them. Keep in mind that PU samples are made with poly-resin (more brittle than the PVC that will be in your final versions). PU samples make it easy to see if something went wrong with tooling or if details are off, which means modifications to the metal moulds would need to be made. Check out the attached photos to see these PU samples!

(Note: The Female Orc Shaman has a broken staff. Unfortunately, the missing piece wasn’t in the FedEx box, but rest assured it’s not broken in the metal moulds. Also, I can’t unsee that the Flesh Golem resembles a decomposed version of Detective Elliot Stabler).

WHAT’S NEXT?

Now that the PU samples are complete, the focus will be the printed items; the Lasting Tales RPG Book, Hero Card Pack, Adversary Card Pack, and the Accessory Pack.

While the factory works on those, they’ll also begin the T1 phase for the miniatures. This is the closest thing we’ll get of the mini before mass production, using a very similar PVC injection material and process. At that point, the results of the T1 samples will contain the details, assembly, material, and shape of the minis best represented of the final version. Once approved, the factory will take any special notes, then go directly into mass production.

CAN YOU PROVIDE A FULFILLMENT DATE YET?

While I understand that producing a date for us all to look forward to is important, it will also create more frustration if it’s wrong. However, I’ll be able to get a closer timeline after a meet with the factory upcoming in September.

Fatale erreur…

Lasting Tales: A Fantasy Miniatures Game by Blacklist Games » Feb 2024: Happy Lunar New Year! — Kickstarter

l'update

Hello everyone! At last, we’re back with an update that I was hoping to provide in December or at least January, but can finally make now.

Right before our factory left for Chinese New Year, they were able to send over a long-awaited package.

Let’s take a look at the contents, shall we?

Character Sheets (From the Accessory Pack)

Note that these are a thick pad with tearable pages. The pages tear off clean and writes on well.

Cards (From the Hero and Adversary packs)

All cards accounted for are on these uncut sheets, ready for final proofing.

Tokens and Graveyard/Reserve (From the Adversary pack)

All of these punch out well and feel high quality and durable.

Lasting Tales Roleplaying Book (Finally!)

And without further ado, let’s take a look at the Lasting Tales book together.

After looking through everything in detail, I have to say that the quality of the book is amazing! The pics/video don’t do it justice, especially from the lighting. Everything really jumps out the pages with its bold colors, high quality paper stock, and durable binding. Though initially dreading having to go through and proofread this physical copy against the digital proofs, I’m so much more excited after seeing this in person!

2024 Schedule

One of the biggest questions is when are you receiving them? Though the factory is currently off on CNY (due to return at the end of the month to the first week of March), we are discussing 2 possible options:

The first option would be to mass produce Lasting Tales and all accessories for it (including the dice) and ship those out first, which would be summer this year. Following, we’ll print the miniatures in the summer and shoot for the winter for delivery.

The second option would be to mass produce everything together and try to land on a fall fulfillment all at once.

There are a few big things that will make one option more possible than the other, which include: Factory Scheduling (making sure we work around their busy times in the summer rush before GenCon, fall rush before Essen, and the Chinese national holiday); Costs (materials to order and shipping), and Logistics (containers and shipping/fulfillment scheduling). Previously we tried to brainstorm with the factory back in Sept/Oct last year, but we didn’t get far into discussion as you can tell, since we’re only now receiving these proofs. But once they’re back from CNY, we’re set to have a productive discussion to at least figure out which of the above options we’ll lock in. Then from there, we can start planning a schedule where we all can follow along to.

What now?

Once the factory is back and we establish which option to do, here’s a final checklist of updates we’ll be looking forward to:

  • Which mass production/fulfillment option do we choose from above
  • Physical Print Proofs approved and given the green light to mass produce
  • T2 Prints of all minis (these are the first run of all the miniatures on the assembly line as a test of the final production before doing mass production. Fortunately, these minis will come out all in one go for us to review. More than likely, there won’t be an changes or revisions because it’s mostly too late for adjustments unless it’s an emergency)
  • Miniatures progress in mass production
  • « White » samples for boxes and VAC trays
  • Box proof digital sample approval (then immediately to mass)
  • Printed material progress in mass production
  • Final sample proof of all SKUs (random copy taken from assembly line, doubling as a QA test for the final product). Once we’re here, we’ll do an unboxing video for all SKUs
  • Palletization of all SKUs
  • Logistics phase (freight/shipping/fulifllment)

Address Changes

One question that has been floating around has been how to update and change addresses. Although you’ll receive an e-mail for that from fulfillment once we’re at the point of shipping, Gamefound is currently open for address changes. That said, Gamefound’s dashboard might ask you for a small amount (less than $1.00 USD). If this happens, please go to the customer service helpdesk on our website and create a ticket. Once you’re in the queue, we’ll manually take care of things for you so you can make edits to your address.
