Obsidian Protocol - par Quti Studio - livraison sept. 2020

Salut,

Wait and see

Hello everyone, it’s been quite some time since our last update. We did not idle however, as we have finally finished the design procedure for all Reconstruction and Development League pieces.

Currently we are communicating with the manufacturer to continue the production of this batch of pieces, and at the same time carrying out the design work for United Network and Guardian of Freedom faction miniatures.

In addition, we have received a lot of suggestions from our community, and hopefully we can disclose the development progress of the project soon.

We have always wanted to be transparent so that everyone gets to see the progress and situation of our project. However, we were still exploring our own project management before, and a satisfying way to disclose our progress was yet to be found. But now we have found a relatively effective and transparent way to disclose our development progress, which is to use this checklist to show which miniatures we have completed.

Due to time constraints, the checklist have not been polished much, but it should be enough to serve as an overview of the progress we have made:

We have been using this worksheet ourself to manage the development process, so we are releasing this first. We will post a more organized worksheet in the next update.

« Oh my God, they only finished one third of them! » Well, I totally understand if you feel this way.

For a while, I had nightmares every day. I dreamed that I had spent too long modifying the design, which upsets our industrial modeler and eventually he left our project. The delivery time was delayed and delayed, and ultimately I was sued for scam.

Fortunately, our workflow has been greatly accelerated. 2/3 of the content you see in the worksheet was actually completed in the past two months, while the other 1/3 consumed almost 8 months before that. Therefore, we believe that the speed of our development can be further improved in the future (our main difficulty now is that we were unable to recruit more industrial modelers).

Therefore, we expect to complete the work of the two third of miniatures left in less time it took us to complete the first one third.

But we must also honestly estimate that we may be able to send all the miniature design to the factory as soon as the end of December, it may still take at least 3-5 months to complete the manufacture and packaging.

Yes, reluctantly, we had to announce yet another delay, and the primary reason for the delay is not the pandemic or other related issue. The primary reason for the delay is because we spent too long in the early stage of this project to explore, establish and familiarize ourself with the workflow.

Regrettably we can provide very limited compensation for the delay.

For now, what we can offer is the KSE version of the GoF core « XP9A » (which we posted on Twitter before), it can block/copy the ability of enemy pilots. This was originally the KSE content planned to be a stretch goal in our Kickstarter campaign. We will add it to the deluxe core box as compensation for keep postponing the project.

Beside this, we are not planning to add more miniature compensation for the time being, as adding miniatures will only further delay our shipment date, which defeat it’s purpose in the first place.

Since we have spent more time than expected, we hope that the end products can satisfy our backers! Here comes the meaty part of this update - the rendering of RDL miniatures we submit to the factory. We made some finishing touches to the model and added functions to them, hope you like it!

For the DTG30 series of drones and their weapons, we kept the flexible structure of the radar, and made the attachable machine gun and missiles launcher angle-adjustable.

For the ZRL-08 chassis, we made its armor plating detachable, while optimizing the ZRL-06 chassis so it will have a better appearance and mix-and-match capability.

For the ZRT-06S torso and three backpacks, we have altered the design of the « Bai`Jiang » significantly, while retaining its detachable antenna.

The R20 railguns also see some major design adjustment.

For ZRT-09A torso and SJ90 glaive, it’s shoulder mount machine gun can now spin around, we are also giving out two different blades for the glaive, corresponding two modified version of the glaive in the setting.

For ZRT-08 torso and it’s three backpacks, we have added a lot of details to the backpacks to give them more nuance.

For the weapons, we have made most of the sheathed weapons into detachable parts, so you can build your own style such as full sheathing or blade in one hand while sheath in another, etc. The extra-armor plates of the Type 77 heavy shield is now also detachable.

Other weapons: the AC-39 rifle was revamped, got flexible stock and detachable magazine.

Other weapons: we changed the MES Launcher into a crossbow with expandable center spine, and detachable magazine.

For the ZRT-15B torso and AC-161 submachine gun, these two parts received some touching up, and we made three alternative head camera for the " Warrior".

For the ZRL-03D chassis, we spent a lot of time to modify and refine this design.

ZRT-15/EC torso and three backpacks.

The R35 heavy railgun, like it’s HMG counterpart, have flexible shoulder mount that can be folded and unfolded.

The three beacons have been completely redesigned.

For the flail and the FSJ-12 « big hand », they are now bulkier when compared to the original design.

The redesigned PC9 shotgun.

The redesigned miniatures for projectiles.

That’s all for this update. Thank you for your understanding and continuous support!

Salut,

There will be a new update at this weekend on the KS. According to the sounds in community we collecting before, we’ll bring you guys a whole English version developing schedule. Here`s the new little gadget——does anyone like to keep your inspiration as we do?
