Confidential until our Wednesday announcement: We are incredibly excited to share that we have acquired the entire Tokaido brand from Funforge! It’s our honor to continue Tokaido’s journey, and Funforge has been incredibly helpful. This will become public information at Essen Spiel, where Stonemaier will have the last few copies of Tokaido Deluxe at booth 3U411.
We’ve entered production on a Stonemaier version of Tokaido. It’s almost the exact same game, with the main difference being the inclusion of an Automa solo mode, which will also be sold separately for those who already own Tokaido. We’ll eventually do the same for Tokaido Duo and Namiji, and we hope to make a completely new game in the series with Bauza and Naiade.
Target is a key partner for Tokaido, and we’re looking to better assist customers who are considering purchasing the game there through in-depth ratings for Tokaido on their website. If you’ve played Tokaido, could you please rate it at that link, ideally with some insights from a casual/non-hobby gamer perspective (ideally with photos)?
