Normalement, fin 2022, reprint et 2 nouvelles extensions + les créateurs réfléchissent à un module pour faire des parties moins longues.

Et c’est reparti pour une nouvelle campagne de crowdfunding en février 2023…

Update #53 - We're coming back...soon! New campaign details, sneak peeks, and more.

It’s been a while, we hope you all have been enjoying your adventures in Eureka Springs! We have some updates on timelines as well as new sneak peeks on what we’ve been working on that we’re super excited to share with you all.

New timeline:

Things have been progressing for the next installment of Townsfolk Tussle, and we’re loving everything that we’ve come up with so far—we know you guys are going to really enjoy what’s next for our rowdy band of townsfolk! That being said, while we would’ve loved to be able to launch in 2022, we’ve made the decision to instead launch the next campaign in February 2023.

This is for a couple reasons:

  • Testing, testing testing! We’re really trying to push the boundaries of what’s possible with the new content. We want each new Ruffian to feel mechanically unique and thematic, which requires lots of fine-tuning. One expansion in particular involves a hefty new addition of gear, and we want to make sure everything is balanced and fun, regardless of which Ruffian you’re facing.
  • We’ve been working on this campaign for the past 1.5 years almost every day, after our day jobs and on weekends, and we want to get the game in a good, near-completed, thoroughly-tested state before we even launch the campaign. Ideally, we want to go straight to manufacturing 1-2 months after the campaign ends like we did last time, so that we’re not bottle-necking the process, and so you guys get your game within an appropriately estimated window of time.

We know this added few months may disappoint some of you, but we’re working hard towards creating something that we think will be worth the wait!

Also, since this is our second time around, we want to come back with a few add-ons, some highly requested items you guys asked for last time. Still hammering out the details there.

That being said, the next few months until launch will be filled with new updates, sneak-peaks, and insights into what we’re working on. Make sure to follow us on Instagram to follow along for some behind the scenes stuff.

Sneak Peek:

We wanted to share some sneak peeks of the expansions we’ll be bringing to the table in 2023, including new Ruffians, some fresh mechanics, and a look at our latest artwork. Please keep in mind it’s all still WIP, so things may change between now and launch.

Let’s dive into the neighboring town of Sprinkle Falls, where our favorite umbrella-shaped Ruffian resides as Mayor.

Sprinkle Falls leaves a lot to be desired; the dismal climate and depressing atmosphere are a permanent feature of the little lakeside town. Worn down from the weather, some citizens have taken it upon themselves to migrate from Sprinkle Falls to our humble town of Eureka Springs in search of a better life for themselves. Unfortunately for you, they don’t all have the best intentions…

The townsfolk will face unique challenges as they fight a new cast of diseased, waterlogged, and downright frantic Ruffians. You can expect to go up against some heavy-hitters, including a doctor with a vendetta against the healthy, a gardener who loves to grow the most vicious plants, a voracious fisherman with a familiar last name, and a frightful giant followed by some mischievous storms.

But don’t worry - for every squad of Ruffians looking to bring mayhem to Eureka Springs, there’s a townsfolk ready to give 'em the boot!

Get ready to fend off some strange intruders from the nearby town of Misty Bluff!

Ever wonder about that little town to the east of Eureka Springs? That’s Misty Bluff. We try keeping our distance from that place - there’s always been something slightly off about their locals. Bort–one of the most sinister and dangerous Ruffians we’ve faced–hails from there, so we know not to trust a smiling face and helping hand from the people of this strange place! After the sheriff’s death, more and more Misty Bluffers have been weaseling their way into our town. Don’t let them get too comfortable!

There’s more to this off-putting squad of Ruffians than meets the eye. While they may not seem to be a threat, ask yourself: where does that meat truck get its endless supply of sausage? And why don’t those salesmen charge Coins for their product? And why is that cat brandishing a knife? The more you question their intentions, the more you’ll realize Eureka Springs would be better off without their presence!

Alright, not everyone from Misty Bluff has sinister intentions. One ex-Misty Bluff citizen in particular is doing everything she can to help defend Eureka Springs from her former neighbors.

We have one more expansion that’s a bit unlike the others. We’re super excited to be working on a brand new way to experience Townsfolk Tussle.

The Peddler knew this day would come: the day when the universe comes to equalize all her good luck. After an evening of profitable gambling with the gullible townsfolk of Eureka Springs, the Peddler returned to her cart, only to find her shelves completely barren. Was this Ruffian theft? Or perhaps sabotage from her competitors? No matter the case, a Peddler cannot survive without their wares.

This expansion will have you starting from scratch, removing all existing Peddler Gear in the game and replacing them with 30 garbage bin goods the Peddler managed to scrounge up. But don’t worry - that gear pile will grow bigger and better before you know it…as long as you can complete the tasks on the Peddler’s to-do list. You’ll have to repair, dig, and scavenge to unlock more gear throughout your adventures.

But how could you possibly survive a Ruffian attack on bare-bones gear? That’s simple: once you find your role in the party, everything will fall into place!

By collecting pieces of a gear set, townsfolk will be able to take on a role, granting them powerful abilities - the outfit makes the townsfolk, after all. As you unlock new gear, new roles will become available to your party, ranging from farmer to clown to glory hog!

We’ll be releasing more and more information as we get closer to February, so keep an eye out if you want to learn more about the new content for Townsfolk Tussle!

We know you may have some questions regarding the campaign as a whole, so we’ve compiled a few of the inevitable ones below:

FAQ:

Will you be selling the base game as well? What about an upgrade pack for anything you change in the base game?

  • Yes, we will be selling Townsfolk Tussle alongside the expansions. We know an upgrade pack is a popular add-on, so we have it top-of-mind to include in the next campaign, but it depends on manufacturing—printing the separate pieces may be very costly, so we need to weigh our options before we write this in stone just yet!

Will there be other languages?

  • We’re working on this—we want to print other languages, but we need to figure out how to handle the logistics of it first. We may have language partners who will print different languages for us, instead of it being part of the campaign. To be continued!

Will there be retail options?

  • If you know the logistics of printing other languages, you know this goes hand in hand with that—so for now we’re not settled on an answer yet, but we very likely will.

Do you know what add-ons you plan on doing?

  • We have a few popular mentions from last campaign in mind. What else would you like to see?

Is there going to be a shorter variant of the game?

  • Yes, it’s top of mind! Still needs fine-tuning, so it’s a work in progress.

That’s all we’re going to share for now–stay tuned for more updates! We’ll see you then.
