Aucune info sur la VF ? Ou de thread dédiés à la VF ?

Oui, en fin de journée.

Ce sera ici : VINDICATION en français ! (Lucky Duck Games) • Game On Table Top

Heyo!

We are zipping into your inboxes real quick-like with your July Vindication check-in, which is likely the most « just checking in » checkings-in of all the check-ins you’ve ever checked from us. We held out as long as we could this month, fingers passionately quadruple-crossed, hoping to have some lush, bombastically beautiful visuals of a final production copy and detailed timeline update to share, but, alas, things aren’t timing out in that type of illustriously lush way. We’re pressing our partners for information and details; they’re all pressing their partners they’re dependent on; everyone is pressing and waiting in an extensive pressy network of waiting and depending. Everyone is hearing « annnnny moment now » from someone who is just waiting on something they’re expecting « annnnny moment now » from someone else, and now, you, too, are hearing « annnnny moment now » from us. So, we’re glad to be in such good company.

Normally, this is not the case. Normally, things are normal. We have great partners with whom we have personal friendships and total trust; everything everywhere is just…all bogged up. So this is one of those updates where we check in basically for the sake of checking in, say simply that we’re very much here, very much engaged with our partners, we love ya, and we’re very much excitedly awaiting the moment we get past this part of the process! The two big things we’re expecting annnnny moment now are: final print production copies of everything and a reliable updated timeline for when we can reasonably expect things to be ready to start hitting boats. Annnnnny moment now, we’ll have those things, and then, so too, will you.

If you’re interested in more musings, though, we’ve got 'em! Here’s something we’ve been thinking about lately about this entire Kickstarter to production to delivery process:

Everything about this process—manufacturing, arranging ocean shipping, clearing the ports, ground shipping, and just actually getting The Most Basic Information—right now it’s all sort of like this: you know those times when you’re in a big ol’ traffic jam, and you’re pretty much certain there’s a wreck up ahead? Annnnny moment now you’ll come upon it, you’re sure. And after a while, you start being that person who pulls onto the shoulder a bit to see if you can see what’s happening up ahead, but all there is is just…more traffic. And then, you start poking at various navigation apps to see if you can get any information. And then you open YouTube and start a video and tell yourself you will just listen and not watch… And then, eventually, for seemingly no real reason whatsoever: traffic starts magically loosening and opening up, and you’re picking up momentum, and voila — you’re full speed down the highway. And then it strikes you as strange that there wasn’t a wreck. It was just…countless things coming together to cause this big slow slog.

These days, experiencing this process is reminding us of that. We could point at any of the contributing factors and say, « that’s the thing! » but any such conversation can never be entirely correct. Saying, « It’s that guy! That guy right there, in the blue car! That’s the guy who did it, because he’s merging weirdly, or whatever! » feels good, but it’s not the complete picture. Sure, the weird-merger guy isn’t helping, but he’s just one of many factors. Similarly, the weather, the fact that another nearby highway is closed, the fact that a few cars pulled off the road to stretch their legs, the fact that there WAS a wreck a few hours ago that has since been cleared but things haven’t fully sorted out, the fact that there’s a concert in the town you’re passing, something-something-covid, the construction that was happening this morning — all these things add up. Ultimately, the most reasonable and responsible thing is to ensure you’re paying attention, not falling asleep at the wheel, and waiting for it to clear up. So, that’s what we’re doing. And things either will clear up, or, eventually, we’ll just reach our destination and will be grateful we’re there and out of the car.

Thinking about it in this way has helped us recontextualize some of our emotions over the past few weeks. Which has been necessary because we are some emotional people about this process, let us tell you. We CARE about this, we care about you, and every time there’s a slowdown, or something hasn’t happened yet that in the past would have happened by now, we get all tied up inside about it.

So, we’re more grateful than ever to have this way of thinking about things, and to have you in our ear telling us that it’s all good, reinforcing that we’re all in this together. We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for your grace and understanding. We’re sorry things aren’t moving as quickly as we’d like and promise that we’re very much right alongside you in anticipation and excitement. We’re tuned in for any opportunity for us to affect the process in any way we can (we have calls with our manufacturing partners almost daily), and we cannot wait to share images and an updated timeline the moment we have them!

Quick Housekeeping Details

Anyway, here’re a few logistical thoughts that may apply to you!

Address Changes

The pledge manager has been closed, but you may still make address changes. Follow any link in a Crowdox email for this project, and you will be able to make a change to your address. We will also send out updates and emails when we get closer to the time we need to lock addresses down. If you have an address change in your future, don’t worry about it for now. When the time comes to worry about that, we’ll let you know. Repeatedly and loudly.

We’ve Gotchoo

If you’ve emailed us at groundcontrol@orangenebula.com about your pledge, we will get to you! We’re still working through a backlog of emails, particularly for complex orders like retailers. Yes, the pledge manager has closed, but don’t worry — we still have all the power needed to get you taken care of and your things resolved. We know someone on the inside…

If you need help, please email us at groundcontrol@orangenebula.com rather than messaging us on KS or using social media. Those channels are VERY tough to conduct customer service in as things get quickly buried under a mountain of other stuff.

Talk to you soon

Rather than try to pad this out, we’re just going to keep this month’s update short & sweet (at least as far as our updates go)! If ever you want to hang out with us more in the meantime, seek us on the socials @orangenebula and on Discord, where the community has developed a beautifully non-toxic & relaxed hangout vibe.
