Pendragon Games (The Thing Boardgame), en partenariat avec Studio Canal, adapte une autre oeuvre culte de John Carpenter. Après The Thing, ce sera donc au tour de Escape From New York (New York 1997 en VF) d’avoir sa version boardgame avec figurine.

It is with great pleasure that we announce our next crowdfunding project: if The Thing wasn’t enough, here is another game based on a John Carpenter’s cult movie. Did you get the quote? Exactly: this is the turn of Escape from New York!
Play as Snake, Brain, Maggie and the iconic taxi driver, trying to rescue the president and his precious tape and bring them to safety, dealing with the gangs of the most dangerous prison in the world – the whole Manhattan.

C’est vrai qu’au delà du thème et de son héros iconique prudemment sexy, je vois pas trop ou le gameplay peut nous emmener. L’histoire c’est quand même juste un type à qui on demande d’aller d’un point A à un point D en passant par B et C. En gros il n’y a qu’un objectif, du coup on va nous en inventer?.. Je reste curieux, mais prudent.
